InfoSys is a privately owned corporation offering information systems
to several markets, including long term care, physician and therapy
clinics, hospitals and home care agencies, including traditional
home nursing and home medical equipment. The home care segment accounts
for 35% of the company’s revenue. InfoSys is not a subsidiary
of any other organization. It employs from 51 to 100 people, including
26 developers, some of whom work in the company’s India office.
InfoSys is a reseller of Microsoft Great Plains accounting
software, Citrix Metaframe, First Databank Medication
Database, AIC scanning software and CareWatch
telephony software. The home care and hospice product, HomeSys,
supports financial/administrative, scheduling and clinical point-of-care
functions. InfoSys reports 45% of revenue from software and 30%
from software maintenance fees. The remainder comes from customer
services and hardware sales.
InfoSys has 215 home care customers, using HomeSys and other products
in 650 sites. Customers are distributed somewhat evenly across all
size categories and ownership types. Approximately three-fourths
are for-profit, Medicare-certified agencies operating more than
one business line, including combinations of home nursing, hospice,
HME and infusion.
